Yard Drainage Repair for Standing Water and Failed Drains
If you already have drains but water still collects, the drains may be clogged, damaged, undersized or poorly graded. EVO Professional Irrigation & Outdoor Services diagnoses and repairs existing yard drainage so it can do its job again.
Repair restores a drain’s intended function, but it can’t control rainfall or groundwater. We’ll tell you honestly what repair can and can’t do, and when a different or additional solution makes more sense. Looking for a new system? See our drainage solutions.
Nearly three decades of industry experience.
Common Drainage Repairs
Clogged grates and basins
Leaves, sediment and debris block inlets so water can’t enter the system.
Crushed or disconnected pipe
Roots, vehicles or settling can break or separate underground lines.
Poorly graded or undersized lines
Lines without enough slope or capacity back up during heavy rain.
Blocked discharge points
If the outlet is buried, clogged or too low, the whole system backs up.
Failed sump pumps
A pump that doesn’t start or run keeps pump-assisted drainage from working.
Erosion at outlets
Concentrated flow can wash out soil around discharge points and wash away mulch.
How Repair Works
Evaluate
We look at where water collects, how it should flow and where it’s getting stuck.
Diagnose
We check inlets, lines, pumps and discharge points to find the failure.
Flat-rate proposal
You see the scope and price before we start.
Repair and test
We make the repair and confirm that water moves where it should.
What Affects the Price
Every property is different, so pricing is flat-rate for the scope we agree on. These are the things that move the number:
- The length, depth and location of the repair
- Pipe material or type
- Pipe diameter or size
- Access, including pavers, concrete and landscaping
- Whether pumps or pump replacement are involved
- Restoration of turf, pavers or hardscape (priced separately unless included in your proposal)
- Conditions found once we expose the line

Frequently Asked Questions
How does diagnosis and pricing work?
Our technicians assess the relevant components, identify potential causes and explain their findings. When additional diagnostic work is necessary, we explain the applicable service process and charges before proceeding. Once the problem has been identified, we provide a descriptive, line-item flat-rate quote, and you authorize the work before repairs begin.
My yard drain stopped working. What should I check?
Look for debris on grates, standing water in the basin and discharge points that are blocked. If it still won’t drain, call us and we’ll diagnose it.
Can an existing drain be repaired instead of replaced?
Often, yes. We evaluate the condition, then recommend cleaning, repair or replacement and explain why.
How quickly can you come out?
Request service online or call during business hours. Plan members get priority scheduling for reported covered issues.
Does repair guarantee the water will go away?
No. Repair restores the drain’s intended function, but heavy rain and groundwater can still affect any yard.
