Pond & Waterfall Pump Repair
Pond and Waterfall Pump Repair
The pump is the heart of a pond, waterfall or fountain: it moves the water that makes the feature look and sound the way you want. When flow drops, the sound changes or the pump stops, EVO Professional Irrigation & Outdoor Services diagnoses the cause and repairs or replaces what’s needed.
If a pump is humming without moving water, or tripping a breaker, turn it off until it can be checked.
Nearly three decades of industry experience.
Symptoms We Fix
Weak waterfall flow
A clogged intake, dirty filter, air leak or tired pump can reduce flow.
Noisy pump
Debris in the impeller, worn bearings or a pump running dry can cause grinding or rattling.
Pump won’t run
Causes include power issues, a failed pump, a blocked impeller or a tripped breaker.
Falling water level
This may be a leak, a plumbing problem or normal evaporation. We test to find out.
Pump cycling or overheating
Restricted flow, undersized plumbing or a failing motor can make a pump cycle or run hot.
Cloudy water and poor circulation
Weak circulation can leave areas of the feature stagnant and prone to algae.
How Pump Repair Works
Inspect
We check flow, water level, the pump and visible plumbing.
Diagnose
We find out whether it’s the pump, the intake, the filter or the plumbing.
Flat-rate price
You approve the scope and price before work begins.
Repair or replace
We make the repair or install a replacement and confirm proper flow.
What Affects the Price
Every property is different, so pricing is flat-rate for the scope we agree on. These are the things that move the number:
- The type, size and age of the pump
- Whether repair or replacement makes more sense
- Access to the pump and plumbing
- Whether filters, fittings or plumbing also need work
- Power supply, which is outside our control (we don’t warrant external electrical supply)
Prevent the Next Breakdown
Regular maintenance keeps pumps and filters clean. See our water feature membership plans, or learn about cleaning and maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does diagnosis and pricing work?
Our technicians assess the relevant components, identify potential causes and explain their findings. When additional diagnostic work is necessary, we explain the applicable service process and charges before proceeding. Once the problem has been identified, we provide a descriptive, line-item flat-rate quote, and you authorize the work before repairs begin.
Why is my waterfall flow weak?
Weak flow often comes from a clogged pump intake, a dirty filter, an air leak or a failing pump. We check each.
Why is my pond pump noisy?
Noise can come from debris in the impeller, worn bearings or the pump running dry. Shutting it off until it’s checked can prevent damage.
Should I repair or replace my pump?
It depends on the pump’s age and condition. We’ll explain both options.
What if the pump is fine but water level keeps dropping?
Then the cause may be a leak or normal evaporation. We test to find out.
